The song was written by Pete Wentz because he was sick of the growing "emo scene." He wanted people to be them selves not just try to be cool.When he says "it's an arms race" he means that it is a race to see who can come up with the best lyrcis.

Pete says it's about his frustration of the ever growing 'emo scene' and he also said he is sure there are better songs on the cd that would have made a bigger hit but he chose arms race because it had the right message. ~LOVE

Yes it's an arms race but i have no idea what it means i think it means though that the world is seperated by race and it is bad.

That's a good question...Songs really don't have to mean anything if you think about it though. It's almost like a form of art and you have to remember, it's Fallout Boy!
