Looks like Boise State's Jared Zabransky will make the cover of EA Sport's NCAA 08 college football video game. What a year Boise State has had but... Do the Bronco's deserve to be on the cover of NCAA 08?

This according to a local Idaho newspaper.

Absolutely they do! Undefeated, never say die to win that bowl game in overtime. They had the best year in college football this year. It's just the cover of a video game! Every year, they pick the team that was the best, or the most exciting, and one that people would respond to. If they didn't think it would sell video games, they wouldn't put them on there!

Of course he should be on the cover. He led Boise State to become the only undefeated team in the NCAA, to overcome Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl, and had TWO undefeated seasons there. At the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, he completed 19-of-29 passes for 262 yards and will most likely be remembered for perfectly executing the Statue of Liberty play to win the game. In three seasons as the starting quarterback, Zabransky compiled a 32-5 record and was named a semifinalist for the Davey O'Brien and Maxwell Awards this past season. They started the year only getting about 20-30 points for the Top 25 rankings, and now they're fifth in the nation and even got 1 first place vote. Sure they may have not had the toughest schedule, but if you put it that way, why didn't any other sub-par teams get to the top? You don't always see a no name team get into the Top 25 every season, much less to become fifth in the nation.

OF COURSE NOT! Boise State beat nobody, and then got lucky against Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl because OU just happened to play their worst game of the year, and Boise their best. Florida won the NC, and yet everyone is talking about Boise State. They are OVERRATED. I think it would be cooler if this year they put a returning player on the cover, so maybe Percy Harvin. (I'm not a Florida fan by the way)

Sure... who else? Brady Quinn? Overhyped already. JaMarcus Russell? Not enough pizazz... you don't get much better than the hook and ladder play. Adrian Peterson? Probably would've gotten it if he didn't get hurt, at least imo. Chris Leak? Definitely could but he wasn't good most of the year.

Anyway, Boise State is highly recognizable after their miracle victory, and I think EA is smart to take advantage of that.

Oh and Jon... they probably would put a returning player on it, except that would be a violation of NCAA rules.

i think of it in all possibility won't count perhaps in Idaho it is going to help the sales slightly yet different than that no. i think of Zabranksy and Boise State deserve that cover for that amazing victory. with a bit of luck somebody will provide Zabransky a shot in the NFL as a backup or something.

Why don't they just pick a guy from the BCS Championship team? That seems to make the most sense (though Madden covers rarely feature a Super Bowl winner either).

No. Percy Harvin or Ginn should be on it. Maybe Troy Smith. MAYBE. But I believe they said it was Brady Quinn. Which is totally unfair. He played ridiculous in the Sugar Bowl and has not been able to beat a good team.

Yeah why not? They had a storybook year and a ending that couldn't be written better. Plus, they are the team that everyone is STILL talking about when it comes to NCAA football.

no.... dude just because they won the fiesta bowl.... unfairly...

dude did you know if you would go back to the overtime game....or when they was on the goal line.... the qb was making an illegal motion that should have been called and... the rb ian johnson lost the ground... but they called his knee down.. well if you would replay that his knee actually never did touch the ball... OU should have had the ball... game over.. ou wins.... it freakin sucks to be ou at that time.. they got cheated....
