Here's what I don't understand. The government punishes people for someone right? If someone goes and kills another person, the United States government will punish them according to what type of it was. So what's the difference with abortion? A child, whether it's still int he mother's womb or not, is still a human being! Within just a couple days of conception, human organs start growing, and in under a month, you have a complete human being. It's still to kill a baby, I just don't see how people don't see that. A BABY IS A PERSON TO!

I completely agree. What is so bad is that it has become an option instead of a last resort. Too many young people believe that it is OK and then are less careful they use it as birth control. I believe that it is taking a life. There have been studies that prove that these babies feel pain as early as six weeks gestation. I dont think that people should be given choice on everything. We are not given a choice on whether our children are educated, it is mandatory (and yes Im sure there are still some parents out there that think the government should not interfere in this.) We are required to provide health care for our children when they are sick or it is called negligence (there have been several cases of parents facing charges for refusing treatment for their children due to religious reasons.) Why is it OK to abort them before they are born? By the end of the first trimester (the cut off point for most abortions) the doctor can usually tell the gender of the baby. Medicaid pays for surgery on these babies invitro if it is medically necessary. They can do heart surgery in vitro for babies who are having problems, they do surgery to correct twin to twin transfusion. Parents spend hundreds of thousands of dollars in hospital bills to care for their infants when they are born preemie and the survival rates for infants after 24 weeks gestation are incredible. Why is it OK for someone to throw this life away when others spend thousands of dollars and try desperately to save them. How can people not recognize this as life.

e of a First of all, if it is not human before it is born, then what is it? It is not a mineral or a vegetable. It is not an animal such as a dog or a monkey. In fact, it is not an animal at all; it is a human being. Cows give birth to cows; horses give birth to horses. No medical person has any difficulty identifying an unborn dog as a dog, or an unborn pig as a pig. Why should there be any question about an unborn human?
Does this statement mean they are human only when they .change their location and move outside the womb? Since when does where one lives determine one's humanity? The difference between babies that are born and those that are unborn is not their essential nature; it is simply a matter of size and location. Accidental or circumstantial characteristics such as size or place cannot determine whether or not a being is human.

You identified some fundamental questions people have asked themselves for centuries. When does a person become "alive"? When does a person get a "soul"? Is the baby part of the mother or is it a separate entity?
With the advent of science, people started noticing things in the early trimesters like humans having animal characteristics like a tail. So... when does a human no longer become an "animal"?
Since this was all starting to get very fuzzy, a clear line was drawn at birth -- you were clearly 100% alive and human at birth.

Actually, if the child was able to live by itself, outside the womb, it would be a person. Inside the womb it is a fetus. Without choice, a woman may be in a reproductive prison just so that those who believe the fetus should become a child, can ignore its needs once it arrives.
A baby (born) is a person, a fetus is not.

It comes down to whose rights should be protected...a woman's or the fetus she carries. The argument often goes to the fact that a fetus at one month cannot survive without the protection of the womb...therefore, it is not a sustainable life. Given that...the rights of a fully formed human (woman) is protected.

THIS IS A LADIES DECISION TO MAKE NOT FOR YOU AND I TO MAKE.. IF YOU AND I WERE LADIES AND WE WERE RAPED OR WERE CARRYING A NOT SO COMPLETE HUMAN BEING, OR WE WERE AT RISK OF LOSING OUR OWN LIFE IF WE GAVE BIRTH I DO BELIEVE THAT WE WOULD ACQUIRE AN ABORTION. REMEMBER THOUSANDS OF BABIES DIE AT CHILDBIRTH AROUND THE WORLD ALL THE TIME EVERY DAY. THERE IS MAL-NUTRITION , DISEASE, DEPLORABLE LIVING CONDITIONS AND ON AND ON. THERE ARE WAYS TO DIAGNOSE ACUTE MENTAL RETARDEDNESS OR SERIOUS PHYSICAL DEFECTS WHICH MAKE FOR A BABY THAT WILL WIND UP IN AN INSTITUTION. HOW ABOUT A BABY THAT IS BORN DOUBLY HANDICAPPED (BLIND AND MENTALLY RETARDED) HOW ABOUT A BABY THAT IS TRIPLE HANDICAPPED BLIND,DEAF, MENTALLY RETARDED AND HAS TO BE DRAGGED ON A SMOOTH TILE FLOOR WITH A SWIVEL HARNESS CONNECTED AND AS THE BABY (BABIES) GO FOR THEIR EXERCISE THERE ARE SIX OR SEVEN CONNECTED TOGETHER AND PULLED ALONG TO GIVE THEM EXERCISE AND KEEP THEIR LITTLE HEARTS GOING AND CIRCULATION GOING. IT SEEMS TO ME SOME OF THE RESPONSIBILITY LIES WITH THE CREATOR . LOOK INTO GENE CODING ALSO TO DETERMINE HUMAN BEHAVIOR .

Your point is valid for mid- to late-term abortions, but many women abort the moment they realize they are pregnant and that is before the fetus has developed into a clear human.

Whatever, a baby is not a person. Can an embryo form a thought? can it make decisions, does it even resemble a person? No! You people need to stop refering unborn babies to full grown human beings.

The difference is that people and politicians are making millions of dollars off abortion.
It is a real money maker.
IT'S ALL ABOUT MONEY.
