I have had my GameCube for about 3 years now, but the problem actually started the same year that I got it. The problem is, when I put a game in my GameCube, it just goes to the console menu instead of going to the game. When I open it up, the thing in the middle wasn't spinning at all, and when I looked at the lens, it would move to the end closer to the disk and it would stay there, but I could here a sound like a motor or something (for the console, not a car). Can someone tell me what's wrong with my GameCube and possibly tell me what I need to do to fix this problem. IF ANYMORE DETAILS ARE NEEDED, FEEL FREE TO EMAIL ME OR IM ME AT ANY TIME. MY EMAIL IS elliottjeromy@sbcglobal.net AND MY MESSENGER NAME IS THE EXACT SAME THING BUT I HAVE MSN MESSENGER TOO ITS jeromy16@hotmail.com

I'll type them again so it's easier to read

Yahoo!: elliottjeromy@sbcglobal.net
MSN: jeromy16@hotmail.com

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME SO I CAN PLAY ALL OF MY ZELDA GAMES!!!!!!!

the very first time you turn on a gamecube, you need to enter the date and all that (this only applies if it was bought "new")

it will continue to go to this screen until you set the options.

when you are on the console screen, it looks like a ...cube, you can push up or down or something to get to the "game" option, then just push A

if it's still not working, you should have contacted nintendo back when the first year warranty was still in effect. other than that, there's nothing much else you can do

Okay I have a solution. First of all, if you open the cd case it obviously will not spin. It only spins if you close the case. Second in the menu click the up arrow. It says game. Click on it (with cd case closed) it should say reading disc and then the game logo appears and then you click start. If you get an error here tell me what it is and I will try to help.

EDIT: Sorry I forgot to read the reply above.

Okay you know when you said the lens, the lens should move up and down with no difficulty what so ever. If it does not see then see if there is something stuck(with machine off) that prevents the lens from moving.

Eew, you should have sent it back when you noticed it. There is something wrong with the laser lense track, the laser lense, or the laser motor. This usually happens when the GCN is dropped and the motor/lens is stuck in the track. it would require one to move the lens on the track if it was minor, but three years later. It HAS to have some wear and tear on it. I suggest sending it to Nintendo and explaining the problem. Any other way could cause your system to not work.
