I took the Depo shot for about 1 and 1/2 years. Then since there were unwanted sides effects, I decided to switch to birth control pills it was at the end of the 3 months when I would have normally gotten another "shot". So now it's been two complete months that I have been on the pills, well, I'm in the "period week" period day 4 out of 7, and no period. I know for sure I haven't been sexual active since I started the pill, long story...so either I'm about 3 months pregnant or my body hasn't regulated yet. Any ideas on this?

Oh, and I didn't have my period the first month after pills either, and I took a pregnancy tests and I wasn't pregnant. I asked the nurse what was going on after that time, and she said my body wasn't regulated yet.

It can take up to a year to get your period back and it may be irregular for the first few cycles. I was on the depo shot for a year and I had completely lost my period. It took me 5 months to get my period back and another 3 months for it to become normal again.

My body is still adjusting from depo, and it has been over a year since I had my last shot. I missed/had light period for the first few months, and it was nerve wrecking! I am a little more normal now, except that sometimes I have periods that last 7-14 days! I hated Depo, it made me so sick and i hate that I have to "recover" from birth control. Also, try massaging the spot where you used to get the shot. Depo creates crystals in the muscle that release the hormones. By massaging the muscle, it breaks down the crystals faster.
P.S. I took a preg test once or twice to make myself feel better, and it was never positive.

after the depo shot it can take a while for your period to come back. It usually depends on the length of time you were taking the shot

Hmmm I never got my period. I was trying to do the same thing and ended up having my third child. Please be careful and talk to your doctor. Good luck to you. And with that pregnancy it took a long time for the home tests to show up positive... I don't know why, but it took weeks till I got a positive reading. And FYI there can be false negatives, but I haven't ever heard of a false positive.

It took me a couple of months to get mine after I went off my shots, though I didn't go onto the pill right after. For the best answer, go see your doctor.

from what I have read on the depo shots it will take another couple of months for your body to get back to its normalcy when it comes to your menstrual cycle, but just in case call your doctor and ask.
Good luck.

I suggest you ask your doctor or check with the clinic. It's probably nothing to worry about - but I'd ask anyway.
Good luck!

it is hard to tell. if you are on birth control then you should ask your mom or your docter. it is no pressure. as long as your not pregnant then it will be all good.
