i have a 1989 version of the hardy boys case files but when i went to sell it on amazon it was like $75 and i am not sure why. are the older editions of hardy boys really valuable? and do they have to be in perfect condition? cuz mines is not....

The Case Files are not that old or rare, so I assume they aren't worth much. Remember, those list prices are asking prices, not selling prices.

www.bestbookbuys.com compiles the inventory of new and used online book sellers, including shipping, and organizes them by price. Try there for more than amazon. Also try ebay, which has a feature where you can see what stuff has sold for (completed auctions) in the last 30 days. Here you will see actual selling prices, which are more acurate in terms of value than selling prices.

I have also seen people list books with resellers like half.com for ridiculous prices. I have no idea what that is about.
