I know you said you already have a razor, but I would suggest Schick Silk Effects. It has wires that go over the blades and is pretty much nick proof. Since it's your first time shaving, I would suggest that. The last thing you want is razor burn or nicked up knees at your dance. You might want to get a shaving cream that has some baby oil in it. You don't need a lot, just a little bigger than a quarter size amount should do for legs. Also, I LOVE putting olive oil on freshly shaved legs!! So Smooth! Just poor a quarter size amount in your hand for each leg and rub on directly after you shave, before you get out of the shower. Vaseline works wonders too. Make sure you moisturize well hours before you shave.

So, it's your first time shaving yeah? Nothing to worry about, you will be a pro in no time. You might want to use more shaving cream the first time because you will have tons of hair wherever you shave. After you shave once and you dont have as much hair you really don't need that much. Make sure you go up!!! Shave in the opposite direction of your hair (for armpits I usually shave down though) to make sure you get rid of it-ex. shave up when you shave your legs. Well, there isnt really a lot you need to know about it, but if you need help, e-mail me at carpediem688@yahoo.com.
Have fun love!!!

First off, congrats! You're now joining what millions of other women do on a daily basis. ;)

Do it after you're done showering. The heat will help open up your pores and make shaving easier. Don't shave dry. It's not worth it.

Try to exfoliate your skin with a scrub, loofa, brush, etc. This will help get rid of dead skin cells from getting caught in the blade. You can get by without it, but old skin that gets caught in the blades will dull the blades as well as increase the chance you will nick yourself.

You don't need tons and tons of shaving cream, but make sure you can put on a nice layer. Rub it on and try to shave soon after, otherwise the cream might wash off.

Shave in the direction of the hair growth. This will reduce your risk of ingrown hairs, although the shave won't be as smooth. Try going in the direction of the hair first and then against it. With armpit hair it's too hard to figure out what one direction it grows in, so just take your time.

After you're done, gently towel off. If you've nicked yourself be sure to put on some antiseptic or Neosporin. Put on some lotion with aloe. Your skin might be tender, so avoid any strong lotions.

I also find that it's best to wait a bit before putting on deoderant.

Hope this helps!

OKay don't freak...it's simple...

1.) you could either use shaving cream or body wash...
2.) all you have to do is run some sudds over whatever your shaving and then the razor
3.) Make sure to put lotion on after you take a shower too!! ^^ So u don't get dry legs and such
4.) Oh! An when your shaving your knee make sure to kneel down and then shave so that you don't cut yourself!

-----Hope I helped!! ^^ Good luck on the dance..

Use enough shaving cream to form a thick layer over your skin, preferably get a moisturizing one. When shaving your legs shave upward, the opposite way the hair naturally grows. When shaving your arpits you will probably have to go over it a couple times, use a light touch and remember to rinse your razor clean after every stroke.

Why don't you buy one of those electric women's shavers? You won't need any shaving cream if you buy one of those. You can't cut yourself with an electric shaver, and the blades last one year or longer. You have to replace the blades on a razor about every two months.

no u dont need a lot of shaving cream. make sure its not the one blade, you want to get the one with 3 because its not as irritating, (at least for me).. make sure you dont go over the same spot under your arms too much because that skin is sensitive, and just go aaginst the hair on your legs and feel to make sure u got it smooth. its a no brainer ;)

You dont need a ton, just enough to cover the spot your shaving. Oh yeah, and dont put too much pressure on the spot or you might bleed. good luck

no the shaving cream is there just to protect ur skin, just experiment on a small part of skin, and see how it works, just go slow, be careful, and dont push to hard. its really not hard. ive been shaving for like 6 years and ive only cut myself like twice. trust me, once u try it you cant stop.

its really pretty easy. i'm a guy and i've been shaving for probably 5,6 years now. you really don't need that much shaving cream; too much will clog the razor. just experiment, and you'll see how easy it is.
