In wich way does this effect you travelling to Germany or not? We're talking about vacation here, not politics.

Not Germany but Hitler did. And he was Austrian. But still, in his madness he pulled the whole of Germany with him and all of a sudden there was war.
Yet the Nazis are extinct, although there are some new that do not want to achieve the same thing as Hitler (in fact, they do not at all know what they want actually)...
I do NOT like people who stereotype Germans. Of course, some Germans initiated the war, but that was over 60 years ago. Now there is a totally different generation and no one can blame us anymore. We only have to watch out that it does never ever happen again, not in our country and not in any other country either...!

Another home work assignment?

Blame? Gee, did Germany bomb Pearl Harbor? Read up on Worrld War I and the Treaty of Versailles(suburb of Paris); then ask your question.
I will say one thing about the UK; They still think WWII happened yesterday and talk about THEIR great victory, and that the US came in late, and 'helped' them a little bit.
At least most Germans over certain age will give credit to the US for helping Germany out after the war - politics aside, I am talking about your average US family IN 1946 that bought a CARE Package for shipment to Germany(that is how it was done then), or the groups of US citizens that donated food and releif goods to the Berlin Air Lift(I wonder if you even know what that is?).

Nazi-Germany initiated WWII and is responsible for the killing of 6 millinos of jewish ,and sinti, roma, and and and..... people. It is also responible for the death of thousands of allied troups and thousands of civilians all around Europe.
Nazi Germany was defeated, and completely destroyed in 1945. The Leaders were dead soon after that and even the oldest nazi of that time should be dead in 2007.
I am german, born in1960 as a son of o little soldier who had to fight in that war and a mother who fought against Hiltler together with Sophie Scholl. She went into the concentration camp of Dachau for about 3 years and survived it.
Nazi Germany of that time is to blame for WWII and I blame them for it.
Modern Germany was founed after 1945 and exists as a totally different nation.
We are not at all to be blamed for what the Nazi did about 70 years in the past.
So blame nazi Germany as much as you want and you will do right!
BUT DON´T BLAME US!!!!

Germany invaded Poland in September of 1939 which initiated WW2. It does not get much clearer that. In 1936 when Hitler consolidated his power over Germany and became doing what he said he would do in his book Mein Kampf. He made no secret of it.

Duh, their[the nazis from germany] the ones that wanted to take over. Well not the country itself, just the nazis. so don't stereotype ALL the germans, because not all of htem wanted to, after all Hitler killed practically 1/2 of them b/c they were Jewish/gypses/disabled/etc...
but it is sad, b/c some people today STILL talk bad about gerans when it was some of their ancestors, and yet NOT all of them were the ones doing this. not all germans were Nazis, actaully a good amount tried to help Jews. I come from german ancestry, and it annoys me when people still talk about germans this way.
