The federal minimum wage law at the moment mandates $5.15/hour. If the bill is passed over 2 years the wage will be increased to 7.25. In the first 12 months it will go to $6.55 then in 26 months in will get to $7.25

I believe that government is planning on passing a law where the min wage will go up slowly and gradually to 7.25 through out the year

Yes, the minimum wage will eventually go up to $7.25/hr. It will go up in two graded increments. This year it will go up to an intermediate level, and next year it will go up all the way to $7.25. This bill was just passed a few weeks ago and will take months to implement.

It's NOT $7.25, but some states did approve an increase in min. wage. Don't know about Texas though.

The raise, if passed, will be spread over 3 years so don't go on a spending spree. To match the extra payout, prices will rise on everything and eat it up anyway, probably BEFORE it gets that high. Nobody wins in minimum wage hikes and some will be laid off. It's like trying to get a sun tan in a body suit. Not good. Those that can't work will suffer. (I said can't, not won't)
