I gotta say they are both great, with a few exceptions however, like how the current rock and rap artists for the most part all have absolutely no talent. I love rap music, but I refuse to listen any of the bums out there today. They can't rap, I'm sorry, but it's the truth. 2pac and Biggie gotta be just sore from turning in their graves listening to this garbage. It's an awful disgrace, not only to Pac and Big but to the entire Hip Hop/Rap community that laid the foundation for these talentless sideshows and now look, these are the same guys making millions of dollars off a public that can't tell the difference between good rap and crap rap. I'll stop, I'm rambling.

I prefer neither.

Rap is hideous these days and requires little talent. All of the music is the same and it does not really have much singing talent, it is more talking.

The lyrics are also stale. For instance, the new song that goes something like "this is why im hot" is a ridicules song. The music sells because little children believe it is "cool" to listen to this type of music. I do not see how anyone can enjoy listening to rap music, the repetitive beats and the lame lyrics that involve "bling", "pimpin", "rollin", "ho's", "drugs", "growing up with a s**tty life", etc. I could go on but I would be here a while. Oh yeah, and rap music is a MOTIVATION KILLER! When they play it at the gym it becomes hard to concentrate on lifting weights. Thats just my opinion though and it does not bother me what other people listen to just as long as I do not have to listen to it...

In comparison, rap uses bass beats, talking gibberish and rock uses a lot of instruments and often loud screaming. Good luck on your paper.

BTW: I noticed that everyone who wrote rap is bad got thumbs down. It is a matter of opinion so no one should get a thumbs down for saying that they do not like rap. Rap fanboys....

In rap they just basically talk to a drum machine whereas in rock they sing to instruments and REAL drums. Rock requires more talent and has a lot more sub-genres such as metal which in itself can be split up into more sub-genres.

Of course, in rap they tend to rhyme more but it's often crappy lyrics anyway.

Basically, rap = **** and rock = great

ok lemme lay it down, rap is nothing but no good HOODLEMS who call them selves muscians, and rock is just pure talent and muscianship. and btw i watched that lttle wayne video for leather so soft and i almost died laughing that he was trying to attempt to play the guitar, anyway playing an instrument takes pure tallent that is why rock is clearly the best
