I hear all these complaints about the lack of black coaches in football, but not one complaint about the skill positions being dominated by one color. The reason is that the most athletic player gets the position. Same for the coaches, the best coach gets the job. Sounds to me like we are pushing affirmative action too the playing field. Just a thought, and not a rasist thought, but getting sick of hearing about it. What about a white coach at Grambling?

I can't argue that at all. The best player/coach should get the job. Skin color should not even matter. If you want a certain coach and he is white you should not have to interview a black coach first. That incident came up when Lions GM hired head coach Steve Mariucci. That rule needs to go away.

Not always the best player gets the position. With that said the best coach does not always get the job also.Lovie Smith was in the super bowl yeah he lost but if he was a white coach ,he would have recieved a raise right away, maybe right after the game what is the problem. The coach that just quit in miami is getting paid more than Lovie.Lovie is one of the lowest paid coaches why .Please I need someone to explain that to me.I dont know why the NFL is dragging their feet on this. They should have paid him right after the game.It is embarrassing.Im thinking of boycotting the NfL if this does not change.Your question is not fair there are alot of white players in the NFL.Now I have to ask a question, if they are unskilled what are they doing in NFL.Even though they are unskilled they are still there. You can count how many black coaches there are on one hand.In this day in age that is not good enough .

It is a sad thing when a country such as ours has to force social equality on people that should have the gumption to do it on their own. You are right that he best players get the playing time but this is regardless of race. So, lets see, lets make a rule that all white players have to be in for at least 1 play regardless of their ability or lack their of. Lets make all nfl coaches take a test each year to determine if they are qualified to even be a head coach. If they dont pass, they should be demoted or fired. Or maybe the number of minority coaches should be in conjunction with the proportion of minorities on their team? Or better yet, lets set up 2 different leagues, one for whites and one for minorities and the super bowl would be between the winners of each prospective league. No one is complaining about the lack of black coaches except the nfl. Minorities have dominated the sports world for some time now, so the logical step is to have more qualified minority coaches as you have implied that black coaches are not as qualified as white coaches. And yes, your thoughts are racist. Many prodominately black college sports programs have and have had its share of white coaches but the funny thing is that noone had to force the black colleges to do this. They simply hired the most qualified person for that particular job.

I agree with you, especially considering the ratio of blacks to whites in this country. If whites outnumber blacks in terms of population, then of course they will outnumber them in terms of coaching jobs!

Then again, on the other hand, I sorta see their point. Football teams will take the best player, regardless of color. Eagles had McNabb as well as Garcia, Titans have Bennet as well as Jones, etc. There is very little racism in the selection of players. However, to consistently take white coaches over black ones means that you think that black coaches are not good leaders, or not smart enough. See the difference?

I agree with you, I just felt like playing a little Devils advocate.

I felt that the Super Bowl was blown out of proportion because Tony Dungy and Lovie Smith were black. Who cares what color the coach is if he is good enough to get his team to the super bowl then he is a good coach. How about people stop worrying about race and enjoy this great game.

GET A GRIP SON. THERE IS A LACK OF BLACK COACHES BECAUSE BLACK PEOPLE ARE/WERE OVER LOOKED. WHITE SKILLED PLAYERS ARE NOT OVERLOOKED, IF THEY ARE THERE, THEY ARE DRAFTED.

WHAT AMAZES ME IS SOME PEOPLE'S ILLOGICAL AND LACK OF CORRECT THOUGHT PROCESSES.
