I don't care about the points really but what is up with me having to post the same question several times before it even shows up in the questions section??!!

Anyway,
My 7 week old has had a major breakout all over her face and head. I WOULD think it was a cat allergy or chicken pox or something except that it is only on her head and not on her hands, arms, legs, etc. They ARE white and pusy kinda. When does baby acne usually clear up? Does it sound like it could be heat rash? She sweats a lot. And is there anything anyone has done to help this? I feel so bad cause it is all over her face and by her eyes and on her neck and everything. Any reassurance would help...

My son had baby acne like that from weeks 6-9...but then it literally cleared up out of the blue. I think it's pretty common. If it doesn't clear up, call the pediatrician, just to make sure it really is acne.

I would take her into the doctors. You should have her 2 month well visit soon, make sure to mention it. But the doctor should mention it first if it's as noticeable as you say it is. Once you determine that it is in fact baby acne, there's not much you can do. Just make sure to clean the area several times a day because milk/ formula and drool could be making the problem worse. I apply Aquafor to my son's cheeks. He didn't have it that bad but I think it cleared up around 2 1/2 months if I remember correctly. And what ever you do do not pick at the pimples.

Apparently a lot of other questions posted at about the same time, pushing your question back. That's happened to me too.

Anyway, baby acne is referred to as melia, which in and of itself is not harmful and eventually clears up on its own, but your child's outbreak sounds much more dramatic than my daughter's.

With the addition of excessive sweat, it sounds like you need to take your daughter to the pediatrician right away -- not to the emergency room -- but I recommend you give the doctor's office a call in the morning and describe your daughter's condition over the phone.

Blessings to your and your little one. You should rest easy through the night, then just give the pediatrician a call in the a.m., unless he/she gave you a 24-hour number to a nurses' line for new moms, just to put yourself at ease.

My daughter had baby acne all over her nose, cheeks and chin. It seemed to appear overnight and after about 2 weeks or so seemed to disappear just as quickly.
