It's not like he is your firends boyfriend or anything so you are not obliged to not go there. You should go out with him, it's not your fault that this guy likes you better then you best friend. She should just get over it and be happy for you, if she gets mad then she isn't a real friend and also what would happen if the roles were reversed if he had asked her out instead of you, would she have gone out with him, Probably.

Well what is more important your best friend or some guys who probably won't like one girl but for about 4 months *if that*? You should probably just let it pass or talk to your friend about your problem. But if you know she really likes him back off. That'd be like going out with your best friends ex-boyfriend two weeks after they split. Not a good idea.

WOW! Do you know how common this problem is?
I don't mean just here on Y!A, I mean in movies, on t.v., everywhere.
Don't go out with him just be really good friends. But not THAT good.
I know you may wanna go out w/ him really bad but if you did you'd be a bad friend. I mean, hey odds are you are BOUND to find another guy that you think is cute and your friend doesn't.
So, there you go.

if she cares about you she wants you to be happy. I mean if the guy asked her out you want her to and have a good time right? Since you were asked you should go. If she has a problem then Tough!

get with the guy anyways, a friend should be able to understand that he wanted you, not her. A true friend wouldnt get mad, she should be happy for you. BUT if she told you that she liked him FIRST, then dont get with him. All i can basically say is:
Is your friendship really worth it?
Is this a true friend?

Definitely talk to your best friend and be honest. There is no excuse for losing a best friend over a guy. Who knows, she might be really happy for you and tell you to go for it!

I would let her know how you feel , and for cortesy I would let her do her move first u never know who the guy is gonna go for, believe me a guy is not worth a fright between good friends, now if she is not your good friend go for it , make the dude yours and prove you are the queen bee!
good lucks !

Did u tell ur friend u liked him? If yes, there is no reason to feel bad, because he chose you. If u refuse to go out with him, you are hurting yourself for no reason. And if ur friend is a friend, she should be happy for u and understand that u were by no means trying to hurt her.

You know you like and get along with your friend, but you haven't dated this guy and you don't know what he's really like. The statistics are that this guy isn't the one for you, but friendships last a lifetime.

ask her if it would be okay and if it would really bother her. if she responds yes than think of this would you want to risk a friendship over a guy, and is this a guy you could see yourself marrying. i lost a friend because she liked my husband and never could tell me she did and she tried to ruin our happiness. if she says she is okay and it won't bother her then go for it.
