I got a letter from better homes and gardens about a strike it rich sweepstakes, is this legit or is it a scam?

usually contests or raffles are just that. It's really hard to win becauese they more people that play, the less your chances of winning or being picked. But also the more people play the bigger the prize. It's just like the lotto. How do you think it got to 260 million already?

Sometimes it's also rigged so you never know. They can do what they want, it's their contest.

so I wouldn't put too much hope into it. If they are asking for money, use caution.

best way to find out is to call better homes & gardens.
If they are actually putting it on then it would have be legit
because they are a huge business, but alot of times scam artists use well known company names for their scams.

I say it is scam but I never fall for those things cause you never know
