PLEASE don't say because they hate America or are living in the stone age. I don't know anything about why they hate us but I know enough about humanity to know it is probably very logical but clouded with hatred so half the message is lost to us.

God people are even stupider then I thought. They don't hate us because we are better then them; you sound imperalistic.

terrorist hate us for our foreign policies. If you look back in history you will find that Iraq first country "liberated" by U.S. the goverment does the same thing over and over. First they invade a country they disband the country's army, then U.S build a "democratic" Goverment for our own interests.

America WAS the most admired country in the world, until our traitor leaders invaded Iraq by spreading lies like "They hate us" crap to our gullible citizens who are mostly ignorant about anything that goes on outside the United States. Our crooked leaders attacked a weaponless and weak country to profit from the war. If they had any balls, they would have gone after N. Korea that openly shoves nukes up our leaders' ***. Now the whole thing has backfired. Now America is the most hated country in the world. Now over 95% of the world hates America, not just the terrorists.

Terrorists commit terrorist acts in order to terrorize others (sometimes they specifically target a government/military, sometimes civilians, more often than not both) in order to achieve a political aim. That aim could be as seemingly innocent as a fight for autonomy or independence or as far-reaching and grotesque as a battle for domination, or worst of all, to fulfill a nihilistic vision.

You lump "the terrorists" into the same category. Let me put it to you this way. Do the Tamil Tigers hate America? I mean, they're terrorists, they kill innocent children in Sri Lanka by the busload, but when they recently shot down a helicopter carrying a US diplomat they fell all over themselves apologizing. Do the IRA hate America? They're terrorists, they have killed innocent Irish and British civilians and blown up churches, pubs, office buildings and entire city centers, but if they ever kill an American I imagine they'd be falling all over themselves to explain it away as some sort of accident. Do the Kurds in Iraq who have committed dozens of terrorist acts against other targets (Turks, Iraqi Christians) hate America? Do Israeli terrorists who kill innocent Arabs/Palestinians and Israeli government ministers hate America? Do homegrown American terrorists who murder immigrants or commit hate crimes, blow up federal buildings or shoot at federal officers hate America? They would claim they commit their terrorist acts because they love America!

Terrorist acts always, always have some political end-goal.

In the late 1700s, the Colonial Army and irregular supporters were called "terrorists". And they were. But they loved America in a serious way.

The United States has supported many terrorist groups, including the forerunner of Al Qaeda, because we happened to be pissed off with the opposition.

Al Qaeda are among the nihilist branch of terrorists. Their political aims are unachievable, and they know it. All they can do is scare us and make us change the way we live and conduct ourselves. But what if we say "No"? What if we aren't scared and we don't change a thing about ourselves?

I agree with a certain amount of self-examination, especially in the area of foreign policy (did you read today in the news that the CIA tried to overthrow the pro-US Japanese government and assassinate the Emperor and PM in the early 50s?) but we don't need to examine "why 'they' hate us", like you and I did something to piss 'them' off and should adjust our attitudes and behavior accordingly! They are terrorists! They are the ones who need to change!

this could be slightly too huge a query to be incredibly replied. What, if something, does Sweden could do with our freedoms? Sweden, for one would not become in touch just about as lots because of the fact the U.S. and the U.ok. in international affairs. i do no longer think that "terrorists" hate us because of the fact we've such various freedoms, lots as that we are progressively extra in touch in the struggles in the middle East.

You know there were some people in my past that hated me. I Tried as hard as I could to figure out why I even tried changing so that they wouldn't hate me. You know what they hated me more. It just doesn't matter why all that matters is that they do and they will do what ever they can to hurt you and they don't need a reason.

We are not so special. They do not just hate us, they hate anyone who do not believe exactly the Islamic beliefs that they believe in. If you have been watching they blow themselves up and anyone else that happens to be around when the bomb goes off. It is about control by fear and terror regardless of country.

From the time they are small children, they are taught that Americans are evil and must be destroyed. The same with Jews and any one who is not Muslim. The Muslim Madrases in America are teaching the same thing to small children! The imams in the mosques are teaching the same thing right here on our own soil!!

"I don't think Osama bin Laden sent those planes in to attack us because he hated our freedom. I think he did it because of our support for Israel, and our ties with the Saudi family and all our military bases in Saudi Arabia. You know why I think that? Because that's what he f**king said! Are we a nation of 6-year-olds? Answer, yes." — David Cross, from It's Not Funny

They hate us because we won't get out of Iraq. I think if we had never gotten into their business they would hate us a lot less.
