Lip Piercing! Should I Get One?! HELP!?

I'm 14 and I have had the idea of getting my lip done. All i want is a little stud on the side of my lip. iv talked to the rents and they agreed. im scared it will get infected and it will totally screw up my face, or like hit a nerve and paralize!? :S can anyone help me out and give advice?! Also next year somtime i will be getting braces, will i have to take my stud out or what?

HALF OF THE PEOPLE ON HERE THAT ANSWERED THIS QUESTION DONT HAVE A CLUE ABOUT WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT. Ive had 2 lip piercings so far.[im 15] AND i have braces. The loop rings are better w/ braces cause they dont get stuck on the wires.
if you clean your piercing it will not get infected, and if people think it looks stupid its just their opinion[ they are usually old people who find this not attractive] and besides its your body. When they close you cant see the scar(barely) it is more noticable if you do it in the center. I cant even see the one i had on my side lip.

What is this fad of lip piercing? No, you shouldn't get one! It is an insane idea and it is totally rediculous. If you were a native in the jungles of New Guinea then lip piercing would be appropriate, but a 14 year old? Absolutely not! Enough with this fad..it is dangerous and infections can result and it is disgusting too.

Don't get a lip piercing. Yeah it's cool and cute and whatever, but seriously this something you seriously have to think about because not only will it bother you when you have braces, but it's a hole on your face, a big hole, ive had one before and luckily i took it out on time, but it's ugly and disgustig when you take it out, but it's up to you, if you want it then get it, but you can get an infection easily. Just think this over really carefully.

No offense, but pierced lips appeal as very unatractive to A LOT of people. It really depends on the type of person you are....

if you are the kind of punk person, then its you, but if you are getting it because other people are and you think you would be cool because of it, RETHINK those thoughts!! You are too young to even be thinking about having that done anyway!!!

1) its gonna look weird with braces
2) that would be really gross to kiss with!!
3) if it gets infected, it would be VERY uncomfortable, and UNNATRACTIVE
4)it is very unappealing to most guys your age

If you pierce your lip now, at this age, then a couple years from now, you are going to look in the mirror and wonder why you ever did this to yourself, and why your parents ever agreed to letting you have it. Youll be stuck with it for the REST OF YOUR LIFE!!!

(you could always remove the stud, but youd always have a hole there!!!)

TAke my advice, wait until you are at least old enough to LEGALLY make your own descisions. that way, when you are 50 years old, you cant put the blame on your parents for what they allowed you to do. if you still want it then, then get it, but dont let your parents make that choice for you.

EXAMPLE---- if youve ever gone to the mall, youve probably seen a little kid (maybe like 2 or 3) getting their ears pierced. they have no idea what its going to feel like later, and if they are even going to want it later, but they just want it now because they saw another little kid who had it. their parents let them have it because they fussed about it enough. then, when they are like 14 or something, theyll come accross their class picture from preschool. then they see that they have big red dots on her ears around her earring, and none of the others do. she may never forgive her parents for letting her do that so young just becasue they didnt want to feel guilty.

if you want to peirce your lip, then wait until your parents have no say. you are too young now, and you dont want to deal with that.

ok Listen i am geting my nose persied and i am 14 and i cant wait do think of what the out come will be i think you will lok hot with lip stud there hot and i think u will have to take it out when u get braces so hope i helped good luck.

Theres always a chance anything you get pierced can get infected.

I want snakebites, and my mom is so against it, i have braces now but am getting them off in a year, ill be 14 1/2 then and ill probably do it when 15.

But yeah you'll have to take it out.

More than likely you will have to take it out for braces and even if you don't, braces hold food and germs that you don't even know about so your lip will probably get infected. I say wait til the braces are gone.

You areonly 14 so let the stud thing go and yes...you will have to take out the stud when you get your braces or it will get stuck in them (it happened to me) and to tell the truth...i hated the thing anyways
