no rijkaard is not to blame if barca gets knocked out. eto'o was not at 100%, i would not have let him play. the coach has to look out for what is best for his players and the team as a whole. if eto'o had played and aggravated his injury and he had to miss the rest of the season, then everyone would be blaming rijkaard for playing eto'o and not letting him recover completely. the coach will always be blamed for things going wrong. barca has struggled while eto'o is out but they remained at the top of the league and went through to this round of the champions, things can only get better now that sammy is back.
during the game saviola had an off night, after playing great futbol for the last couple of weeks, messi was only coming back himself from injury. eto'o would not have been a factor if he had played because he would not have been able to play his best ball.

Gosh Kasper
One thats a BIG IF.
Yes, Eto'o would have made a major difference; however, Rijkaard runs a tighter ship so to speak than Benitez and thus doesnt play players who talk back.. Never mind smacking trainers with golf clubs. Barca may have stayed with an attacking strategy(WHICH THEY SHOULD HAVE) AFTER the first beautiful goall they scored. But, I appreciate your concern for our squad but theres nothing to worry about it.. As you would say, I guarantee that 100%.
Answer my Peace United question.. I think you would get a kick out of it.
As MJ said, Im glad youve become a Barca fan now and realize how great of a club Barca is! Its long overdue.
The only problem: Pretty much every Chelsea fan is gone.. except MB fan and she doesnt like to tease as much...
Can NEVER say NEVER. When the legend Rijkaard does his job and Mourinho wants to start winning some more titles, as a smart guy hell realize that Barca is the place to do it and hell go there! I promise you 100%

Rijkaard made a 'surprise' decision when he brings out all the strikers and let a empty space on mid-fielder area... it may works to few teams...but don't dare to do that with English club especially with Liverpool...
Rijkaard count half mistake of that decision, but dont forget the riddiculous mistake from victor valdes... he should be grounded for that un-important mistake, he often out of positions and very slow to get back at his postion normal...

Well...for me :) I really don't think that Rijkaard would be to blame, why? it beats me, but for some reason, I can't blame Rijkaard for Eto'o's words.
And where was Thuram these past weeks? shouldn't he have played too?
