I posted that idae to you a week or two ago, I remember you were asking about DYI feeders.

An analog clock is just a fancy name for a clock with hands instead of a digital clock.

A 35mm film canister is the little plastic tube with a cap that 35mm film comes in. Harder to find around now that digital cameras have taken over, but any small plastic container will work in it's place. A good way to get 35mm film canisters is at a photo printing lab, like in Walmart. They usually have a trash can full around and will give you a few just for asking.

You can then just tape the plastic container to the hour hand of the clock so that it points out and set the clock for about 10:00. Put the right amount of food in it and prop the whole thing up over your tank so that when it gets to be about 4:00 the food will dump out of the container and into the tank. that can give you about 6 - hours from the time you set it until it feeds the fish. Of course, it only feeds them once before you have to refill it.

It's cheap, but it works. If you need a way to feed them several times without you there your best bet is to buy an automatic feeder. They aren't all that much and work better than any homemade feeders I have ever seen.

if you need to feed your fish for a while you can get something at the pet store. it is white and they can last up to 10 days! i'm not sure what they are called but they are about 10$ or maybe a bit more.
