Do you think he did it for publicity or was it real. Why would someone send adeath threat to a man that did nothing wrong to the people. He performed well last year.

I am sure he did just as Roger Maris did when he broke Babe Ruth's record for homeruns in a single season. Hank Aaron also received death threats when he was on the verge of breaking Babe Ruth's lifetime homerun record.

Barry Bonds is a man that many people (especially outside of San Fransisco) hate and there are many crazy people out there so it makes sense that he would be receiving death threats not only because of the steroids probe but as he reaches the homerun record (Hank Aaron went through the same thing, albeit for different reasons)

I think it's possible. However, he is not the first nor will he be the last athlete to receve them. There are always sickos out there who will do that. I also think that there is no doubt that he is making this public to make himself look like a sympathetic figure, like he tried to do with his ESPN series last year, before it flopped.

I agree that he did nothing harmful to people, but he is not a good guy. Have you read "Game of Shadows"? That stuff cannot be made up. He is a very mean person. You may be a fan of his, but chance are he'd rather spit in your face than sign an autograph. Outside of Giants fans, most people want him to fail, and maybe some DO take it to extremes.

if Hank Aaron received death threats before he broke the Babe's record, it's possible that Barry Bonds would have received death threats right before he (*gulp*) breaks Hank Aaron's record

he could get death threats for a number of reasons....because he's about to break the most hallowed record in baseball, because he's hopped up on roids, because people are jealous of how big his head is :-), because he's black.....the list goes on and on and on

I am sure he did. People are sending him death threats because he is a cheater and is disgracing the game of baseball on the verge of breaking it's biggest record. Fans take their records very seriously and take the game of baseball very seriously. He is not getting death threats because he is black, he is getting them because he is a prick.

Why should anyone be surprised that he was sent death threats? He is an ****** and a cheater. Hell, I am surprised that no one carried out the death threats. If MLB will do nothing about it, someone has to do something.

Bond's doesn't need any more publicity, let alone negative publicity. He probably did receive them, becaue he is ****** cheater scumbag. I hope he heeds the threats, gets scared, and retires.

He probably did. However, noone would actually pull it off i bet. Is it a reason to be scared of nothing? Maybe. Like him or not you don't kill someone.
