What kind of cup are u using? Try using a cup soft top it is soft like the nipple on a bottle. The name brand of the cup is made from Nubby. I got it at Wal-mart in the baby section. It worked for my daughter. She was off the bottle by the time she was 1. Now 2 years old. She drinks from the hard cover cup. I would change gradully over time not right away. My daughter didn't like to drink water. She like juice over water.

Good luck!

My daughter is the same way and she's 6 1/2 months. At least your daughter takes the bottle. Mine won't. So I am starting her on the sippy cup. Try the sippy cup first. They sell them at Wal Mart or any other stores. You can getty sippy cups that have the plastic spout or the ones that have a soft spout or a nipple, they come with and without handles. Make sure you don't buy the one that is easy to clean. I got one from Nuby and the spout was hard to clean, couldn't get to it so I returned it. Try those if it doesn't work then just get her a plastic cup. My daughter loves drinking her water from a cup too and she looks so adorable. 90% of it is on her but she enjoys it. Good luck

First of all, never give her juice in a bottle. It will cause baby bottle mouth, or serious cavities. If you want to wean her to a cup then you've got to eliminate the bottle completely from the house. It's not easy though, she will protest a lot but eventually she will forget. My 3 were on the bottle for over a year. I was a softie. Whatever you decide don't let her walk around, when she starts walking with the bottle if she still has one then. Good luck!

Just keep giving her water in the cup and she'll get it eventually. My daughter used to be like this (perfectly capable of using a cup but only willing to drink milk in a bottle).

Try using a transitional bottle/cup system. Since she holds her own bottle, it will be familiar, but they have a sippy cup top instead of a traditional bottle nipple. They also have handles you can add as she gets more accustomed. I believe Gerber makes one and so does Nuby.

fill her bottle up with whatever it is she doesnt like, because if she dont like if she wont drink it, then fill her training cup with her favorite drink. but it is going to be hard because she is only six months and she loves that bottle.

I was told that if I put water in the bottle, he will give it up quicker. Of course, my child loves water, so this didn't work for me.
