Instead of facing who you really are and to make yourself feel better you make up a person in your head that isnt really you but you wish was you. Like instead of looking at the situttion in how you would handle it, you put a situation (a sitiation that doesnt really happen) in your head and live it in the way the person in your head would live it? Omg just writing this makes me think its crazy! Is this that personality disorder thing?

Yeah, that doesn't sound like a healthy coping strategy. You're going to wind up with all kind of integrity issues.

You need to be YOU, and if that's not good enough, work on bettering yourself. You need to say what you mean, mean what you say, and your intellect and emotional self need to be one congitive whole.

It's not crazy. Don't think like that and anyone who thinks so is a moron. It's just a way of thinking things through, like, how you would ideally go about a situation. Nothing wrong with it at all although I wouldn't do it too much, you don't wanna forget who you really are!

By the way, there is no mental disorder that has those symptoms as such anyway. Some are similar but there is nothing wrong with you by the sounds of it.

I think it's a fairly common coping strategy, particularly for young people not totally happy or comfortable with who they are. Maybe you develop an imaginary alter ego...beautiful, famous, rich...and create a fabulous life for her, rather than think about your own problems. It's pretty normal for young girls, back in the days when I was growing up we did it with Barbies, maybe now it's done on the computer. Don't worry, you're not crazy. You're describing something a lot of people out there can relate to.
