In the process of buying a notebook but I don't know what brand and type is the best. I have a Dell computer and I know that the brand is wonderful but, I really didn't want a Dell notebook. I've been told that the Hewitt Packard is good and that the Toshiba is too. But, that the Toshiba is more durable than the HP. Anyways, I'm considering all three, but, I need help on choosing and on, what's the best and on any other brands that I should consider.

Really depends on how much you want to spend on it and the features that you are looking for.

I was at your seat a month ago. I was doing research for my notebook. These are the things that I looked for processor......

The future is the 64bit bus address. AMD Turino 64X2 is the latest if U like an AMD processor. But I did lot of research and found out that this processor takes lot of your battery power.

So I checked what INTEL has on the table... and found out that they have a good processor called "Intel Core 2 Duo"( not core duo) Which is 64bit address. So this was my choice for the processor.

Then, comes the RAM part.
2GB was a bit too expensive for me so I selected the 1GB (1024MB) Ram

When it comes to drive space 120GB is a decent space for a notebook.

I Love burning CD's and DVD's.. And also wanted to have a light scribe (burn the label for the CD) and Duel layer support...

I need internet everywhere I go...and don’t like to plug in extra USB wireless receivers’. So should have a built in receiver...
These are the most important specs for me...

And the best deal for this setting was available only through HP in their dv6000 series. My notebook is HP DV6244. and I spend little as $1098 with TAX at a nearby Circuit City.

This was loaded with Vista Home premium. Also have a built in Web cam and a Mic...

I do lot of computer programming from lower level as Assembly to .NET and C# at the higher end. Also use this for watching tons of music videos(have S video out) and use sound editing software like cake walk, Rave EJ. I also use this for web designing programs like Macromedia Flash, Dreamweaver, Adobe ....and not to mention gaming.

But never use this for downloading.... for that a desktop is better..

So I guess I have given you lot of info...
may be too much info :)

It’s all up to you now ...
