We have never been to Greece and would love to go in the summer. Unfortunately we only have a two week window that we can use because of my husbands job. I have been looking ans searching and surfing etc. but the cheepest i could find was about £500-00 per person a for self catered accomodation and there are 5 of us so that works out pretty expensive! My collegues tell me to wait till the last minute for the good bargains. Any suggestions or help?
Thanks
Kim

Bargains can work.
About the best(cheapest) timimg I would say end of May/early June.Normally it gets quite warm during that time and you will be fine, regarding the weather.Greeks' summer vacations are between 15th of June and 20th of August,so you can find low prices at the end of August/early September also.I would suggest that the last minute bargain is not a good thing, because your option will be minimized by that time and there is going to be too much"traffic"for the hotel keepers to make a bargain with you. They will just wait for an other one to show up and rent their rooms as much as they please.
Thus, early booking and bargaining is the better way for achiving lower prices, but that is only my opinion...
I hope you'll have great time!

firstly, decide where and when you want to go.

Find three travel agents offering the same holiday, get three quotes, then go to the most expensive and tell them you want to go to such and such andsuch and such a company is offering at £x thats your cheapeast quote, back and forth a few times should be able to get a few hundred quid knocked off.

Thats what i do, its amazing how you can get the money knocked off.

remember with 5 of you, you have some bargaining power, we have saved hundreds just on the two of us before now.

It does require you knocking on the agents doors rather than doing all your searching online.

And if you can arange the trip for 25\8 and after would be better. The prices are all coming down because it is the end of the season , the sea is still warm and is not so crowded.

Scepticus has a good answer. Avoid July and August if you can.
Sepember is a great month, still warm and sunny without the onslaught of tourists and the high prices.

there will be bargains...

I'd suggest you book the flight now when it is cheap, and get a bargain on a self-catered place nearer the time.
