it's probably hard to draw a dog because you don't know how one works. To learn to draw anything you need to understand what it is your drawing. if you don't know that a dog's thy is under it's skin and that he's actually walking on his fingers and toes not his foot then you'll never be able to draw a dog's legs.
The best way to draw anything is to start with basic shapes. a sphere for the dog's head with a cylinder for his mussle, then refine the shapes to add eye sockets and a nose and ears etc... Always start from the general and work to the specifics. If you start with details it will be very difficult. how do you know where to put a dog's eyes if you don't know where his skull is?

No it isnt! really....just start with the head, and do the outline but not the mouth or whatever....then u can go from there and work on details afterwards
