My 7 week old has had a major breakout all over her face and head. I WOULD think it was a cat allergy or chicken pox or something except that it is only on her head and not on her hands, arms, legs, etc. They ARE white and pusy kinda. When does baby acne usually clear up? Does it sound like it could be heat rash? She sweats a lot. And is there anything anyone has done to help this? I feel so bad cause it is all over her face and by her eyes and on her neck and everything. Any reassurance would help...

Baby acne is perfectly normal and actually quite common. They are more common when the baby is hot or fussy and become irritated by spit-up or harsh detergent, They say if it doesn't clear up in 3 months to speak to your doctor about it. There really isn't a lot you can do other than try not to irritate the little one's skin further. If you are not already, use a mild fragrance free detergent and wash the bedding frequently. Don't try scrubbing or anything like that, it will only make her skin worse. I have heard some mother's using Aveno baby lotion, they claim to of seen results in a couple of days, Good luck! and don't feel so bad, it's normal and NOT your fault :) Go to this site and read on...
