I know there are lots of ways, but which is the easiest? I would prefer not to have to download anything? (Add/Remove Programs does NOT work)

the easiest way is to run some antispyware scan and it will erase pest trap. but good spyware removers usually costs, so the easiest free way is to remove pesttrap manualy: http://www.2-spyware.com/remove-pest-trap.html
you simply need to know which files belongs to this parasite, so you can find them in your computer and delete them yourself.

To roll back to the next known good recovery point is easiest.

Manual removal is risky 1.) it involves clearing autostart and editing registry. The quoted page recommends a one job tool. 2.)

A tool such as ccleaner 3.) will also do it.

A small download with a dedicated tool for managing autostart is "autoruns" by sysinternals. 4.) You clear section "logon" from programs that are not by Microsoft; Your hardware vendors, anti virus or firewall. Most ppl have too many autostarting programs - and this will give You some extra PC performance if You are one of them ;-) (autoruns is the tool that i would use)

thx for reading my post
