Its a trait that the two mothers and dads have so its genetically encoded in its blood its strategies reacts like its asserting hay i'm a fish i flap my fins i can get my nutrition or hide from threat. the mummy fish in basic terms lays the eggs and the daddy fertilizes them. the mummy would not stick around to work out her babies. So if for some tousled reason the fish would not comprehend a thank you to swim and its element of a school its seen lifeless weight and an stunning style of the time the fish will consume the weakest hyperlinks.

Its operant behavior. They were born with the knowledege to know how. Just like we were born with the know how to cry. We didn't have to get taught to do it. If it was respondant behavior then, like us with walking, then fish would have be taught. But thet don't.
