In my economics class, I was just told that making hamburgers was reclassified as a job by president bush, and that it is now considdered manufacturing. Is this true?

Now I'm really worried about the quality of education in schools today. I'll give you credit as a student for questioning such an odd statement though.

For one the current President, nor can any President reclassify/re-define manufacturing--which is producing goods from raw materials.

For two making hamburgers would fall under the "service" part of the economy and then if split out again--under restaraunts.

Sectors are generally defined by the financial industry check out yahoo biz/ or forbes.
