The wet bulb temperature for a given air is the lowest temperature that can be obtained by evaporating water into it, the latent heat being supplied by the liquid itself.During the process,it is presumed that the pressure of air remains constant. The wet bulb temperature is found out by means of a wet bulb thermometer, which is an ordinary themometer, the bulb of which is wrapped with a muslin cloth dipped in a store of water, allowing water to be constantly evaporated from the muslin surface. As the evaporation process goes on , the air in the vicinity of the wet bulb gets saturated resulting maximium cooling and the temperature recorded at that time gives the wet bulb temperature.

The Wet Bulb temperature is the temperature of adiabatic saturation. It is determined by using a thermometer with the bulb wrapped in wet muslin. The temperature will lower with evaperative cooling. It is dependent on the relative (RH). (i.e. If the RH is 100% the web bulb temperature will be the same as the dry bulb)
