Personally, I love Millsberry. It's fun and safe for all kids. Here's some others that you could check out:

Club Penguin (not my personal favorite)
Neopets
Power Pets
Webkinz (I've heard very good things about it, but you have to buy a stuffed animal)
Kiddonet (Very fun especially for girls. You can do makeup and all this other stuff)
Girl Sense (I think memberships are free now.)
