It's a renewable resource. It grows back on its own, and it doesn't cost anything.
Also, on the wigs thing -- the wigs look so much better than the wigs made with synthetic hair. They also can be styled more easily.
Growing your hair for this also gives you something to do for someone to support them during their cancer fight. I don't know if you've ever been close to someone fighting cancer, but if you haven't I'll tell you that you feel completely helpless and you have an intense desire to do SOMETHING, even though there's nothing you can do to make them well. Growing your hair gives you something to feel like you're helping in a very small way.

I donated 11" of my hair to Locks of Love. I do it for patients with alopetia, the girls that have that condition cannot ever even grown their own hair. My hair grows back so I will gladly give it to someone who can't get it on their own and make them feel better about themselves in the mean time...it makes ME feel good.

First of all, thank you for helping the cause.
I think the reasons you've listed are good (first two are good enough!).
Cancer patients going through chemotherapy REALLY appreciate this. You just have to be there when you give someone their wig...especially kids. It's the best feeling in the world!
So: Alopecia & Cancer victims.

Wigs for Kids .com
they take donated hair to make wigs fro children who can not afford a wig after they go threw cancer treatments. and most of the time the children get the wigs for free too, because most can not afford the price of a wig
so please send it to them

There was also a girl that I used to go to school with who was going through Kemo,
She was made fun of on a daily, because she lost all her hair.

It would give cancer patients the confidence they need after going thru kemo therapy. Every one that has to go through that needs all the help they can get!

Your hair will grow quickly and you can wear it short, the person you're donating to probably does not want to show off their growing hair...that is if it does grow.
