After you get out of the shower, use a nail brush. You can get one at Wal-Mart in the travel isle for like a dollar. It works great and isn't too hard on the skin under your nails. Lemon juice also makes your nails whiter if you soak them in it for a few minutes.

When I clean my nails -which I do very often because it bugs the crap out of me- I use the metal pick thing that slides out of finger nail clippers. And if I can't get all of it out I soak my hands in water and that really helps.

Hope it helps!

Keep a nail brush in the shower and scrub your nails in the morning. You can also keep one by the sink and do it everytime you wash your hands.
