Oh, dear. Another router question another day. Despite what anyone tells you you can use whatever router you want. The trick is to set it up properly. The question I would ask is why do you want to change? If your current system is working don't mess with it. If it ain't then it's likely to be a hardware or configuration problem. Without a shedload of more information it's impossible to tell. Problem is, this has never been easy despite the telcos saying otherwise. Get some advice on your specific system.

Yes you can use any named router , it does not matter what the name is they all do the job you want it to do, only problem i found is that depending on eho your isp is, they sometimes only have tech help on certain named routers so i would check with your isp has to what help you can get from a certain router

yes, there are several router manufacturers. Linksys is another popular one. Just make sure that your card matches the specification, for instance, 802.11 b or g

Yes you can different ones (if you have a modem combined then you would need the same type ADSL etc)- best one would depend on what you are trying with it - e.g why are you changing it
