Dakota Fanning is 13 now, but she might pull off 10 or 11. The problem is she is so full of herself now you would never get her for less than 6 figures. The girl from little miss sunshine might be a better fit. Although, an oscar nomination will inflate a person's head over the normal limit.
Anyway, if this is just a school project. Ask your friends if you can borrow their little sister for the part. Try a cousin or your niece.
