Is it possible to connect a webcam or other usb camera to the Wii?

Currently no. Each USB device has to be controlled with a software program that knows how to "talk" to the device on the USB port.

On your PC you install a driver. A console needs support for a device built in. So maybe with a future System update you can use some accessories on the wii. But currently only the wired LAN adapter for the USB port is supported.
