Kathy, I didn't know that Muslims are able to attend the UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, which Obama attends.
Please get your facts straight cons...

Mormon, to them, is much worse than being Catholic.

Hmm, to me, I couldnt vote for Romney. I dont see eye to eye with Mormons. They seem even crazier then Chrisitan bible thumpers. Why should anyone;s religion become the reason why they run for office in the first place. Religion is supposed to be private, and personal. As for religion in politics it should be totally removed. Also we need to get the catholic church out of our government.
Warren Jeffs is a mormon, so maybe that would be why I wouldnt vote for Romney, eh. They all have the same basic beliefs, and all believe the word of a CRAZY man.

Because there are two Republican parties in a sense--the mainstream, who are balanced and open-minded (they just happen to fall on the conservative end on some issues)--and the "Bible-thumpers" as you call them.
For the mainstream, Romney's religionisn't going to be an issue-unless he goes and joins that polygamy cult or something! :)
And while the right-wing wont like it, they will vote Republican even if Satan himself is the nominee, So a lot of Republicans don't see Romney as a political non-starter.
But this could have an effect in that the "moral voters" might stay home--which could decide a tight race.

read your last two paragraphs and i must say to you "don't take it personally". find the guy closest to your ideals and vote for him. its all about who can do the most good and the least harm right? and everybody is not going to get what they want. i swear i didn't vote for bush, but he's back and the damage he's done, is going to be an issue for the next 3 administrations. go figure. romney's religion does not make him satan or savior. i guess you know i'm not a republican.

When you say "republicans," do you mean the Republican Party aparatus, or republican voters? The Republican Party understands full well what a Mormon candidate will mean: no Republican president in '08. No way the party will nominate Romney. They're afraid of the magic underwear.

Remember that when John Kennedy ran for President a lot of pundits said that his religion would prevent him from becoming President. I think people are a lot more tolerant than they were then I see no problem for Romney other than he doesn't stand a chance.

That's what they said about Kennedy, before he was elected, no body wanted a Catholic President.

I have my doubts about that. Most polls are worded in a way to create a certain outcome. People will vote on his principles and his views. They said the same thing about Kennedy.

So what. Obama attends an all black church which has very left leanings. Go to the site. One of the rules states "Disavowal of the pursuit of middleclassness".

Honestly, I'd rather a Mormon than a Muslim. So I guess we'll just have to wait and see won't we?
