i'm learning how to properly type in school. what finger is the correct one to hit "b" with?? the one that comes off the "j" or "f"?

Either, if normally right - handed it's the left index.
Personally whatever is the most natural to you.
No one can force you to learn a set finger pattern.

B I hit with my right middle finger. Same with J. F with my left index finger. I say just go with whatever your hand ends up going with overtime.

You can use both j the finger that comes off j and the finger that comes off b it depends on how you like it.
