the best thing is to ask your ob/gyn. they could recommend what is right for you to take. don't just take anything. it all depends on your pregnancy and you want what is best for the baby. but my guess is they will either prescribe something for you or tell you what is say to take.

I was actually surprised someone said Sudafed because it has Pseudoepherdrine hydrochloride in it and so do most cold and flu tablets they also have for night relief a drug called chloromophenicol melate. Both drugs not recommended in pregnancy

Paracetamol is safe in pregnancy so you take it that. Get onto a good pregnancy supplement such as Elevit or similar to what is in your country you will notice the difference.

Pregnancy is a bad time to get sick as most of the time you just have to slogg it out. Get plenty of rest

Good luck

That is not true. Sure, you sholud take just anything, but you can take Robitussin. I got a horrible flu 1 week ago, I called my doctor and she told me to take that. She told me that there was a study that showed that there is a list of medications (which I do not have on me) that do not harm your baby.

There are a few books out there that have lists of all the common medicines with a FDA? based rating on how dangerous they could be.

Edit: The Unofficial Guide to Having a Baby has a pretty large section on this subject. It lists all the medicines etc. Very informative.

When you are pregnant you are limited to a very few medications that you can take. Tylenol is what my doctor always told me to take. They sell Tylenol cold medicines that you can take and there was a few more but you aren't suppose to take any medications with asprin in them. Hope this helps you! And good luck!

Yes that is true! I was a pharmacy tech before I became a stay at home mom, and I couldn't believe the amount of women who would get mad at us when we told them there was nothing they could take, you just have to let it run it's course. You can call your Dr. to see if he can't suggest something, but don't be surprised if he tells u to tough it out. Good Luck though.

it's true, only limit yourself to taking tylenol at the very very most 3 times a day. Try eating lots of fruit and veggies, maybe a homemade chicken noodle soup, and lots of rest. Whats the point of mixing horrible over the counter drugs with your baby just to make you feel a little bit better?

that is absolutely true. you should not be taking any type of over the counter medication without consulting your doctor first. read the label Do Not Take If Pregnant. that is a no brainer.

This is directly from my ob/gyn
Tylenol can be taken for aches, pains and fever
Sudafed or Benedryl for nasal congestion
Robitussin DM for cough and chest congestion
However, if you have a fever over 101 then you should call your doctor
