I grew up in Dubai in the mid 90s, The last know build i saw before i move to the state, what the Bur al Arab, Emirates Twin Tower and Deira City Mall.

Dubai changed so much in the past 10 years, there are many new and lovely things here, there are 3 new lovely malls: Emirates Mall, Ibn Batuta which is out of this world, it is devided to 7 parts, each part represents one country , and each country to designed in a lovely way, the third mall is Mercato, which is a rather small mall, but it feels like a street in Italy.
I'm sure you also heard about Burj Dubai, which is going to be the highest building in the world, it is going to be around 180 floors, they already built 108 , it is expected to be finished in 2009.
Brand new areas are built outside Dubai, really lovely compounds, with pools, lakes, parks....etc
Dubai Marina is a very nice place too, with lots of restaurants and cafes.
You really should come and visit, especially in a couple of years, when Burj Dubai, and Dubai Mall ( which is also going to finish in 2008) it has the biggest aquarium in the world.
And Dubai Land, which is Dubai's Disney Land and also expected to finish in two or three years.
So, start planning your trip from now.

Dubai became a superficial city with nothing much to do but shop. They are now building a building that looks like a local dude (really ugly), a tower that's upside down (retarded) and some rotating building. Plus you can now ski at the Mall of the Emirates. However, if you ever skied before it's pathetic really. Maybe good for beginners. The traffic is unbelievable, the alcohol too expensive and the people are shallow.

Dubai is growing out of control!
In fact "DUBAI" is only famous for what it became in the last 10 years!
Theres amaaaazing stuff and tons to see in dubai, especially in Bur Dubai , places like jumeira and stuff..
Skh. Zayed ROad, where The Emirates Twin towers are is now a road fulll of towers..
Theres Skiing in Dubai now, in the huge emirates mall
Theres Wild Wadi ( a huge water park next to Burj Al Arab)
You can say big malls open like everyday! everyhwere
Theres so much more but thats wat comes to mind now
You HAVE to come to visit.. but not live cuz rent prices are growing unaffordable.

their building something simular to disney world, its really cool & they also r building many new architures, malls, stores, ect! I've been there its really gorgeous and they really r advanced, i think u should go and visit it for ur self one day!
