Men will never change and same goes for the women.They will complain about their lying ways and the never ending mistakes but the truth is they love it. They love the things just the way they are otherwise they would change them. Women love playing that mother teacher role and the men know this ;so this is why they keep making the mistakes over and over again. It's not because they are stupid it's their instinct .

This is one of Mother Natures unknow laws; men are pigs and never ever will learn from their mistakes so bank on men to keep right repeating their mistakes. Men also lie to cover up their mistakes once discovered. Men will do stupid things at the worst possible time. Men will never understand. These are more of Natures laws. Hope this helps. I think that they do love you in their warped crazy way. Either he has a drug or booze problem, more than likely. He is dependent on you, and thinks that he can't go on without. Been there, done that. It is because they are immature little boys. Maybe you need to make him stand on his own 2 feet and be responsible for his actions for a change. If you let him get away with the problem over and over, then you are accepting this,in his eyes.
