A foundation should match your skin color. If you are very fair, then ivory or very light sand beige is great. If you are medium with olive undertones, then something medium tone with a yellow base. Your best bet would be to go to a department store and be made up by a makeup specialist from a makeup company. If you don't want to do that, then try out samples in CVS or Waldgreens and place on the side of your face or neck and see if shade matches. If you see orange streaks, then this foundation is too bright for you and off. If you are a young woman, a sheer tinted moisturizer would be nice..as it just gives you a glow without you looking like you have a mask on or are over made up. Or another suggestion, buy a foundation that says sheer coverage. All the companies that sell in drug stores are good and have all kinds for all types of skin.......then the department store has high end brands. A brand that I like in the department store is Prescriptives as they specially mix a foundation just for your skin tone and your skin tone alone and they save the formula for you on their computer....Try them..they know what they are doing and the quality of the makeup products is superb.

If you don't get a lot of acne or don't have anything that needs to be covered up a lot then use a light powder they cover up pretty well and give your skin a nice glow. If you are spending a lot of money on your foundaation use bare minerals (usually $20-$30) If you want to use less money use cover girl powder (usually about $6) If you need more coverage use a liquid or a stick foundation. They are usually $6 or $7. I would reccomend almay. To find your color look at the foundation bottle at compare it to your skin and if it matches go 1-2 shades lighter. They have some foundations (almay perfect match) that have only 3 colors that can match to your skin tone more easily. I don't know the price on those though.

I use maybelline new york dream matte mousse and it works really well. To find the perfect foundation you need to look at the bottles and pick out a few that you think are closest to your skin tone. Then you open them and rub them in. What ever one looks the best or the one that when you you put on and couldn't tell the you had it one because it blended in so well is the one to use.

the best way to find a foundation for ur skin, is to actually place it on ur face or neck. simply looking at the color swatch or placing the foundation on ur hand will result in wearing the wrong shade because the skin on ur hand is likely a different shade and texture. if u have sensitive, dry, or oily skin on ur face, ur hands may have completely normal skin and react different to the foundation. the right color foundation is the shade that just about blends in with ur natural skin. of course, if ur in a drug store- they may not be a tester or it could be gross from mad people fiddling with it. i would recommend spending money on quality foundation from a department store or makeup store like sephora or mac. i used to be opposed to spending a lot of money on makeup, but i have oily skin and cannot afford to just put any old thing on my face, so i spend the 30 at mac for my foundation and it lasts me about 2 months (wearing it everyday), so the money is definetely worth it when it comes to ur face. if u shop at a drugstore or walmart for foundation and cant find the right shade, u could always mix shades together so they match. just make sure that ur foundation is not only good for ur skin complexion, but also for ur skin type, i.e. oily skin- should buy an oil-free foundation, etc. and try looking for one with some spf in it- every complexion can become victim to skin cancer. so protect that pretty face! good luck

the way to find the best foundation is by testing the foundation/the card thingy on your collarbone! thats the color that your looking for! oil-free foundation is the best! I like liquid better than the powder-most people do because in winter the powder makes it look cakey. some liquids go from liquid-to-powder......etc.
so look around. i try a new foundation every time to see which one works the best so i cant help you on which one looks the best!
hope you find some!!!

Personally i find it embarrassing to put lots of foundation shades on your jaw and then go out and see which one sinks in. So i would really suggest its all about trial and error as i ahve many different brands of foundation and all different colours!!
Alot of people are talking about bare essentuals maybe its just me but i dont think it is actually as wow as some poeple say it is as when i wear it i think you can still tell taht im wearing foundation!!
However i just orederd models prefer foundation from qvc look into it @ www.qvcuk.com (uk site) it has a dial so you can choose from many different shades all from a clik of a dial. Its in a while bottle and i think you gte quite alot in it also!
hope that helps!!

Its always hard to find a perfect foundation match for your skin. I use the new almay perfect match and it works best. Theres only 3 that you choose form light, medium, dark and it just blends in perfectly. I definately reccomend it!

I swear by Bare Escentuals Bare Minerals! It's light, doesn't clog your pores and looks super natural! The tricky part is finding the right shade. I think it took me three tries to get the right color. I have olive skin that's not super light, but it's not dark either, so I started w/ Medium, then went to Dark & realized that Light was more for me ... but once you get the right one, it's perfect and I love it! I ordered mine online, which is why I think it was harder, but if you try to find a retailer who can let you test it on your skin tone, that would be best. ;)
