so two days ago i noticed my mouse was being very agressive toward me, usually she (now i know its a he) is very nice and runs up to the cage door when i walk into the room. well he was sort of antsy and well how can i say it... his genitals looked red? well sort of swollen and his penis was bigger. i didnt even know it was a he... is it just some weird sexual urges he is having or is it a serious problem? and he does live alone in the cage.

Are you sure that the red part of the anatomy that you are seeing is a penis? Mice can be prone to something called "rectal prolapse," in which a part of their intestine protrudes through their anus. It will be a swollen, red, tube-shaped piece of tissue. This can be caused by diarrhea or constipation. If this is the problem, it will not fix itself. You need to take your mouse to a vet to have the prolapse fixed. If you delay, you will decrease your mouse's chance of survival. Please take the little guy (or girl!) to the vet to have this checked out as soon as possible.

call the vet and ask what you can do for him. it's been a while since i've had mice so i can't exactly remember what to do. but i know you have to switch your bedding from shavings until it clears up. it could become a serious problem if left untreated to long.
