every morning I wake up to find racoons pulling back my newly rolled turf/sod. How can I prevent this?

Your turf is loaded with grubs which are a favorite of racoons. Get some Grub killer at home depot and folow the `directions. It should take `care of your problem.

This what a big, barky, carnivorous dog is kept for. This works only in the country of course. Shotgun pellets make their point, but again, only in the country (where this is generally legal, by the way),
You can of course set traps, but this often requires a professional animal control officer.
