Hmm... As a clinical social worker, all of my clients "technically" are insane, as they all are diagnosed with major mental illness (e.g., schizophrenia), yet, ironically, they are probably the most "sane" people in my life, because with them, there are no fronts. What I mean is that the rest of us, go around each day, worrying about what others think about us, worrying about who drives the better car, lives in the better house, takes the best vacation... with my clients who are truly mentally ill, they are in-tuned to the smaller, more delicate aspects of life, such as how they feel, how their friends are doing, and the like. I often think that if we could all learn to speak our minds like the "insane" do, we'd be a much happier society.

The most insane person in my life is my mother. (Really, she is clinically insane, as well as manic depressive and a substance abuser.)
I deal with it by reminding myself that she can't help it. She's never learned how to adapt or be an adult, so I have to forgive her for it. The few time she's seeked help, she lied her way out of it, convincing at least 3 psychiatrists that my father abused her and that I hated her. Again, not her fault. If a psychiatrist can't help her with her problems, who am I? All I can do is be there for her and love her, even if I don't agree with anything she does or says.
And constantly remind myself that every has a choice. For her, it's easier to be entirely dependant on other people... That, by no means, says I will be the same.

Yes I do. Its a good thing I try not to keep much company with them. Its so awkward to be around them and even worse to speak rationally with them because they don't think clearly make poor decisons have altered thought process and are very demanding and childlike. Im so glad when my shift is over!!!!

2 people come to mind at the moment. I can't get either one out of my life. I'm stuck with them. I survive one day at a time.
