I hate to throw them away.

I throw them in the dishwasher on the top rack and use the rope to anchor it down. You can also put it in a delicate bag and throw it in the washing machine.

I put mine in a mesh laundry bag (like for washing lingerie)
and throw it in the washer with a load of sheets and towels
on warm water. Then hang it up to air dry. I do this once a
week for a couple of months, then throw it away.

Even if you don't like to throw them away, you need to after time. There is no real good way of cleaning/disinfecting them. There are tons of pieces of microscopic dead skin cells lodged in the mesh. They are only like a dollar each. Please just buy new ones. :)

use baby disinfectant solution. great too for cleaning crockery and cutlery! just soak it for 1/2 to 1 hour. sorted!

You could soak them in water with a little bleach in it, the hang them to dry

Soak it in alcohol overnight.
