School exists and the majority of people still are stupid. If you want to be intelligent you have to rely on information outside of the classroom as well.

I don't like using the word "stupid".
However, we probably would be pretty ignorant about a lot of things. I mean, there are schools everywhere and so many people are still ignorant about many things. So I imagine this would be a gazillion times worse if there were no schools.

We wouldn't be any less stupid, we would just know far fewer people's opinions about what is right or wrong in life.
Until we can know things for sure, all we are really doing, is ingesting a whole lot of stupid, which actually makes us even dumber than if we knew nothing at all.
Because it destabilizes us into uncertainty as we try to figure out which one is right, or if any of them are right.

Your grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, older siblings, and other assorted relatives would teach you how and where to find food, how to make stone tools, how to keep a fire going. In turn, you would pass the knowledge on to those younger than you.
