Most Bible translations are a good source, however: if God is Love, like any good parent he doesn't want us to be in the dark, especially about really important things. Try John's gospel.

To find a higher purpose, in whatever circumstance you confront, that will give your life meaning. That is, to dedicate yourself to something larger than yourself so that when you look back on your whole life on your deathbed, you will feel you lived for something. Read Viktor Frankl's 'Man's Search for Meaning'; he founded a whole school of psychoanalysis on the basis of this question and essentially came up with the answer in this book.

i think it's about sewing the seeds early in life and reaping the benefits of it later. (whatever you put in, you will get out) it's really up to you and what you want to make of it.
