OK I'll take Jerome's answer one further...You will worry about their safety...FOREVER.
I had that same anxiety when I was pregnant and now my son is four months old and I still worry about all the horrible things that could happen.
It's a normal part of motherhood...I think it's natures way of keeping the human race going...keeping moms worried so that they take care of their kids...
Don't worry so much mamma...you're fine, baby's fine...alls fine.
The only thing that helped for me...was I rented a fetal doppler...so I could listen to the heartbeat whenever I wanted. That helped alot...cause once that baby starts moving and you start feeling it...there will be one day that you don't notice movements so much...and you'll freak out all over again (also normal) ...with the doppler...you can take a sneak peak and listen to baby whenever you start freaking out... It really did help me feel better.
Anyway..here's the company I rented from ...they are really nice and had reasonable prices...

Good Luck and Congratulations!

It is completely normal. My wife is in the same boat. it isn't until the point at which you really start to feel the baby move that alot of the fears go away because it suddenly becomes a much more tangible experience.
I was just reading What To Expect When You Are Expecting and it has a section on this very topic. Although, the feelings the mothers have will vary of course. (I don't recommend this book as it is very reactionary - all of the midwives we have seen have had similar reviews)
Just relax. You are 4-5 weeks from actually feeling your baby toss and turn. It's going to change your outlook 10 fold :)

IT is very normal, and unfortuanatly there is really nothing you can do other than constantly remind yourself that you are eating right, getting rest and doing everything you are supposed to do. I am pregnant for the 4th time with twins, 21 weeks along and scared every moment that one will perish in the womb. They told me the risk is greatly increased, so now I dream about it, I worry if I don't feel movement. That is also something that will help, when you can feel movement, it will reassure you everything is okay. Good luck.

I felt like this through my entire pregnancy. I think it is normal for alot of people. Every time I had an appointment I felt sick driving there because I kept thinking "Oh, God they are going to find out something is wrong." But usually after the third month things should go smoothly, especially if you are taking good care of yourself. I know it is easier said than done but just relax and think positive and i'm sure everything will turn out okay.

I felt the exact same way in my first pregnancy. I worried about my baby 24/7. I read every article ever written, browsed every website ever made... And she ended up being perfect!
Dont worry about it... stressing will not get you or your baby anywhere.
God won't give you what you cant handle! Good luck to you and your family!

Speaking only from my experience of two kids and one on the way, you will be scared until the baby comes and you see 5 fingers and 5 toes on a crying baby!!

It's totally normal. I felt the same way! Once you are able to feel all those reasurring kicks from your little one, your anxiety should ease (although I'm sure not completely because us pregnant women LOVE to worry!)

It's normal honey. I went through this, and it's only now starting to leave me...and my baby was 22 months old yesterday!
It's natural to be concerned about your baby and worried about his/her health.

i was the same way. and once i could feel her moving, if i didnt feel her moving, even if it was in a one hour period, i would start to worry. its totally normal. there is really nothing you can do to ease your fear, but i can tell you that mine eased between the second and third trimester, the fear never completely went away while i was pregnant, but it got easier to deal with.
