Good question,

Jesse

At this point of their careers i have to say Ray Lewis, there no 1 better leader in the NFL than Ray Lewis. If you're looking for leadership on your team Ray is the man, I mean you've seen him on T.V the way he motivates his teammates, the way he challenges them to play at a level they've never played before. I believe Ray Lewis has something to do with Adalius Thomas and the way he has progressed into the great player he is today.

Bottom line is Ray is the man, he was even on "The Sports list" as one of the 10 greatest linebackers of all time. Teams would give up half their team for this guy. Oh and don't forget Ray has won a superbowl, last time i checked all Brian Urlacher did was play very poorly in the biggest stage of his carrer. Thanks for the question.

Ray Lewis a few years ago, Urlacher now.
However, best middle linebacker in the game is Zack Thomas from the Dolphins.

I have to go with the hometown favorite, Brian Urlacher. He is bigger(6' 4" compared to Lewis at 6'1"), hes faster, and he can win games by himself, like the Arizona game. He is also more of a role model and team leader (Lewis is a murderer). Ray Lewis also had a pretty sub par year (compared to others), but he does have the Super Bowl ring on his finger.

Id go with Brian Urlacher.

Urlacher is more in his physical prime right now, but I'd take Lewis any day of the week. Who said he wasn't a team player? If anything he is THE team player. Have you seen him motivate his guys at the begining of the games? He is an ultimate leader.

damn..I didn't even read the above answer (I'm slacking, I usually read all answers) .....I guess mine just emphasizes the point that Ray's a great leader.

Hey happyman- good job. Not only did you not answer the question at all, but you cited the fictitious "Larry Food" as a better linebacker than the two in question. If you're going to be a Steelers homer, at least learn how to spell the players' names.

Take Urlacher off the Bears, and the teeth of their defense is gone. Take Lewis off of the Ravens, and all you lose is a flashy, aging egomaniac.

Brain Urlacher ALL THE WAY. Hes a team player and he steps up and makes plays. Its pretty cut and dry, he steps up and makes plays so that the Bears can win a football game because they cant win games without there d-fence. The offence is not so good. Ray Lewis plays on a pretty well rounded team and not so much is expected of him.

this is really tough, both are tackling machines but also have a lot of help around him...lewis is a better blitzer, while urlacher, a former safety in college, is more of a coverage guy, however he can also blitz effectively when asked to, so i think urlacher's versatility and also youth gives him an ever-so-slight edge over ray
