Well, let me just say this, A complete ban is idiotic. In cases of an ectopic pregnancy the growing fetus will kill the mother, and that baby will never live anyway.
Also, if someone becomes pregnant after a rape, I cannot justify forcing them to carry that child. I would hope they would, but it is not my place to force them.
I do think we need better sex ed in this country and to make contraceptives more available. If people weren't getting pregnant in the first place abortion wouldn't even be an issue.

While I don't think that abortion is right for every case, it would be incredibly difficult to judge the "morality" of this issue. Simply saying that it should only be allowed for rape/incest cases would raise the number of false rape reports. Rape is very difficult to prove even with evidence like bruising, because some women like rougher sex.
In the clinic where I work we counsel each woman before she goes through with an abortion. It's a hard choice, but so is giving a child away, or choosing to parent a child. Every woman has a reason, and I'm sure there have been a few women who decide to abort for reasons that might be considered 'unethical', but we can never truly determine why a woman wants to have an abortion.
I was a victim of rape at a young age, and as a result I became pregnant. I chose abortion because it was what was best for me, and now I work to help other women. I'm not a pro-abortionist, I'm a realist. If we make abortion illegal there will be too many women who turn to unsafe means. What we need to do is fix the NEED for abortion. Teach children at a young age about proper safe-sex techniques and eradicate abstinence-only education.
Abortion as a whole is not a bad or wrong choice. So many want to say that it would be better to give the child away, but there are so many flaws with that. Below is information about the foster care and adoption systems in America.
Based on current AFCARS estimates released January 2005, there are approximately 590,000 children currently in foster care in the United States. (US HHS, 2000)
In America there are 295,734,134 people. Of that number, roughly half cannot adopt children due to sexual orientation, citizenship status, cost, credit history, arrests, and current inmate status. (Also, though it may not need to be said, over 450,000 sex offenders in America are also on the blocked-from-adoption list, with good reason) That leaves just about 147,867,067 who can legally adopt a child, if they fall into the correct categories among the adoptees. That means one in every 250 people needs to adopt a child for the foster system to rebuild itself. How many people do you know that want to adopt a child? There are so many men and women who are okay with adoption, but would never adopt a child. And do you know how much it costs Americans a year for the children already in foster care? 10 billion dollars.
I’m not saying never look into any other possibilities. If you know your child is going to be adopted, then by all means, don’t abort, it’s your CHOICE, and it should be. If you worry, look into information, talk with people, and know the facts. Don’t be shouting useless blather all over the place. Look it up, decided if you want to terminate or not. It’s about having the right to choose what you want. Abortion isn’t always the best choice, but the fact is, sometimes it’s the only good option.
While infants and babies are usually adopted readily, children age 4-18 are rarely adopted, especially when an infant is available. If abortions became illegal and the only option was adoption, it's likely millions of potential young children would grow up in foster-care, never knowing a good family.

No, killing innocent human beings is never a good thing, and every abortion kills an innocent human being. Before most women even know they are pregnant (just three weeks after conception), their baby's heart is already beating. No, it's shouldn't be legal. Here's why:

Abortion is what you think it is PERSONALLY! Thank God we women still have a choice on what we believe. I personally believe in abortion, but not as contraception.
I have a beautiful 5yr old little boy that I love more than life, however I had an abortion when I was 16 yrs old and again while on the pill when I was 25 yrs. old. Those were MY CHOICES! LEGAL CHOICES! No one can tell you what to do or not do with YOUR body - it's your CHOICE!

Abortion is murder of an unborn human being. It should never be legal. It certainly is not moral or ethical. There is nothing good about murder. I counsel young women, and even older women who have had abortions. They are plagued with nightmares, guilt, many of them hearing their baby screaming as it is ripped from its protective pouch in the womb. They also live with problems in relationships, infertility, and other female issues. You need to inform yourself on the development of a baby in the womb. Life begins at the moment of conception. If not, there would be no pregnancy, and no baby would develop. Abortion is not a form of birth control, it is infanticide. The time to use birth control is before you decide to have sex. Abortion stops a beating heart!

I think that abortion is the worst thing someone can do!!!!!!
1. its KILLING the baby
2. Its innocent
3. there are other options like adoption mabey for a family that cant have kids and want them!!!
There should be a law against abortion because it is a very BAD thing!!!!

Definitely should remain legal. Fundamentalists may say its murder, but who are they to tell the poor girl in the inner city who was just trying to fit in that she should have to support another human being when she can barely support herself. Abortion is a womans choice, I don't care if people quote the bible or anything, I wouldn't want someone deciding for me if i wanted to get an abortion. Every woman should have the right to choose, the pursuit of happiness is stated in the constitution and the circumstances are different for each woman.

Abortion is a bad thing. It is killing a child. There are many options for the woman who does not want to raise the child she carries, but she MUST carry it and give it birth.

If you have to have sex to fit in, you shouldn't be with those people. If she can't support herself, she shouldn't have sex, cause eventually ur gonna get pregnant. If people would have some sense and civility, this wouldn't be an issuse. It should be illegal except for the cases of rape and such. There is always an effect for every cause...
And If killing your kid is okay, than I should be able to kill my mom right now...
